Evolution 1.11 · release build · needs a retail Steam copy of STORM 4
Naruto Storm Evolution Guide

Character directory

Quick answer

The roster is the STORM 4 cast plus everything the mod has ported in from earlier and later Storm games: Part One characters, Storm Connections fighters, Lars from Tekken 6, and awakened or alternate forms. Connections ports and their stages need the Next Generations DLC.

Character select artwork from the mod's own site

Evolution's roster is not a list you can read off one release note. It has grown in layers, and knowing the layers is what lets you tell a missing character from a character you have not unlocked.

Reading the roster correctly

Two rules avoid most confusion:

  1. Alternate versions are separate characters. "Naruto (Part One)" and "Naruto (Sage of Six Paths)" are different selectable slots with different movesets. Counting "Naruto" once wildly undercounts the roster.
  2. DLC gates a whole block. If the Connections fighters are missing, the DLC is the first thing to check, not the install — see missing characters.

What changed most recently

  • 1.11 added Nanashi Uchiha as a new playable character, plus a Custom Kara stage.
  • 1.10 added fifteen characters in one release, including the whole Part One set and Kurenai — detailed on added in 1.10.
  • 1.10 also reworked how supports are assigned, which changed the support type of dozens of existing characters — see Dash Cut and support types.

Using the roster in practice

If you are picking a character for the first time in a while, note that the mod rebalances aggressively: hitsphere sizes, damage, tracking and start-up frames move between builds. A character that felt unusable two updates ago may be reworked now, and the mechanic changes page tracks what moved.
