The Part One roster
Evolution 1.10 added Part One versions of Tsunade, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Itachi, Kisame, Kakashi, Kabuto and Guy, with support types spread across Charge Guard, Secret Sub, Combo Support, Strike Back, Charge Assist, Break Guard and Cover Fire. Older Part One characters such as Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Rock Lee and Neji come from the base game and were reworked, not added.

Evolution treats "Part One" as a roster block: the pre-time-skip versions of the original cast, with their own movesets, item sets and support roles.
Who has a Part One version
| Character | Support type |
|---|---|
| Tsunade (Part One) | Charge Guard |
| Orochimaru (Part One) | Secret Sub |
| Jiraiya (Part One) | Combo Support |
| Itachi (Part One) | Strike Back |
| Kisame (Part One) | Charge Assist |
| Kakashi (Part One) | Break Guard |
| Kabuto (Part One) | Secret Sub |
| Guy (Part One) | Cover Fire |
All eight arrived in 1.10. They are selectable slots in their own right, not costume swaps on the modern versions.
The older Part One characters
Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Rock Lee, Neji, Hinata, Shino, Kiba, Shikamaru, Choji, Ino, Tenten, Kankuro and Temari already had Part One versions in STORM 4. The mod reworked them rather than adding them, which shows up in the changelogs as hitbox, damage and support changes rather than "added".
Examples from recent builds:
- Naruto (PTS) had ground combo start-up, active frames, hitboxes and cancel frames adjusted, with damage shifted to favour finishing the down combo.
- Rock Lee (PTS) had a support attack bug fixed and a crash tied to his second jutsu plus an awakening resolved.
- Neji (PTS), Kankuro (PTS) and Sasuke (PTS) all received targeted fixes for missing hits, stray hitboxes and combo drops.
Item sets
The mod's item documentation makes a specific point about Part One fighters: Storm 1 variants of characters have item sets similar to their original Storm 1 sets. If you are used to the modern build's item loadout on a character, the older version may hand you something different, and that is deliberate.
The mod's own item page labels characters with TS (time skip, the older/modern versions) and PTS (pre time skip), and lists the three items each one carries. Guard Break Pills are excluded from that list by design.
Supporting your team
Support types are not cosmetic. A Secret Sub support behaves nothing like a Cover Fire support, and the Part One block is one of the most mixed groups in the roster — two Secret Subs, one Charge Guard, one no-frills Combo Support. If you are building a team around a Part One character, read the support type page before you lock the pair in.
